james messinger, a graduate of the prestigious culinary institute of america (CIA), borrowed $50 from his grandfather to place an add in a local penny saver, to purchase restaurant equipment for a new catering business.
in 2003, james was named “entrepreneur of the year” by the metro south chamber of commerce and fleet bank. this award was a reflection of not only growth in business, but a commitment to the community.
in 2006, james and his wife mikaela traveled to spain to explore Spanish wines (james always had an intense passion for spanish wines from his CIA days). while exploring spain, james and mikaela, bursting with excitement, decided to open
“L O C O tapas & wine bar!”
in november 2006, LOCO opened in it’s original location on turnipike st. in south easton. from the onset, LOCO became a hit!
one year later, james then decided to purchase a larger commercial building and move both LOCO and his award winning catering company, Crazy Chefs Caterers, to this new and improved location (and the building you are sitting in!).
today, LOCO & chef james have been featured in the boston globe, boston herald, tv diner, the phantom gourmet, gourmet magazine, numerous local print media, woman’s day magazine, in-style magazine, & numerous wedding publications.
